How To Start In Skateboarding

Skateboarding is definitely an easy to do and fun way to get some workout, connect with many people, and also, to look trendy. Some may perhaps look at this as a somewhat high risk activity, but a lot of teens would continue to wish to go into it for the benefits. A lot of skate boarders worldwide are 18 and below so this means about ten million adolescent skaters world wide.
If you’re someone that is interested in skateboarding, then read along for a few easy help with how to commence.
Most crucial rule: utilize basic safety equipment
Most important things should always come 1st. Like many other radical adventure (you do not go rollerblade without having rollerblade helmets, will you?), prior to going ahead and attempt to do some stuff with a skateboard, you’ll want some protecting gears together with you. Head gear, two elbow shields along with knee shields should do the task. You possibly can borrow some stuff through your buddies should you be unclear if you’ll carry on with skateboarding in the future, just be sure that they could suit the right way on you.
So many teens currently overlook the truth that safety is an important issue found in skateboarding. People assume that sporting safety protections and headgear will not look hip (the coolness aspect yet again), and hence they skate without them yet enduring severe personal injuries from skate boarding just isn’t cool as well , don’t you think?
Transform your skate board in an extension of your own body
Just after putting on your protecting equipment, the following point you’ll want to conduct is to get acquainted with your own skate board. Skateboards are offered in various designs and sizes. It is prudent that you borrow a skate board first to enable you to assess what kind of skate board you would want to have in the future.
Prior to deciding to go to the back alleys in your skateboard, you should find some time in order to get effectively accustomed to it. Make an attempt standing, jumping and moving forward your feet on the skateboard for some time before you actually make any kind of movements. This can stop you from being too surprised with the “feel” of the skate board.
Stance
Another crucial point that you need to do before you start skateboarding is to determine your position. If you like the feel of having your left foot in front, then do this, if you don’t, put your right foot in the front. You’ll be able to choose which foot goes where by kicking a ball. If you kick a ball with your right, then you definately have to put your right foot in the back of the board and the other way around.
Motion
You now know your best position on the skateboard, what should you do next? You push your backside foot to obtain some movement going on. Remember to relax your whole body while you begin and bend your knees if you have to. The very first motion may feel a bit strange but you’ll surely get the hang of it.
You should try and make your first practice in a location where you have ample space and also minimal interference just like cars and persons. A level surface is much better when compared to sloped ones.
Stop!
An additional important thing you must learn is just how to stop. There is distinct styles of techniques used for stopping a skate board, yet, we’d recommend using the back foot to halt the movement for newbies. All you have to try and do is to get your back foot on the ground and utilize the friction to halt your skate board.
Each of these are actually much of the essential stuff that novice skate boarders need to master prior to them getting to the more difficult tricks . Remember that health and safety comes first, and that setting up strong principles is one’s best system to prevent incidents while skate boarding. Enjoy yourself!

Skateboarding – The Basics Of Skateboarding – A Guide For Novices
by ama-author
Some people make riding a skateboard seem amazingly easy. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple to ride a skateboard – those people that make it seem easy have usually been skating for years. If you are interested in learning how to skate, follow this guide and you will be cruising down the the streets on your skateboard in no time! Please take into account that this guide won’t be getting in to the more advanced sides of skating, such as doing tricks. Rather, it will cover just the basics of getting on a skateboard and propelling it forward.
Some new skaters want to know, “Which foot goes on the front of the skateboard?” A great method to find out which foot goes on the front is to set your skateboard down on an area of grass or in your house on some thick carpet, so it can’t move around. If you run and jump onto the skateboard, your feet should naturally arrange themselves on the board. If this doesn’t work, then you can simply choose which foot you want to go first. Choosing a foot position is very similar to picking the hand that you write with, simply choose what feels good to you.
In 2009, there were over 45 teams competing in three regions: North, Central, and South Los Angeles. Though the movement is still centralized in California, not surprising considering the lengthy history of skateboarding there, the movement is poised to explode throughout the nation in the coming years. Soon you may see a competitive skateboarding team at a school in your town.
The current competitive skateboarding season includes two competitions in the regular season, with the winners advancing to additional competitions at the semi-final level. The top individuals at the end of the season can potentially win an invitation to compete in the X Games, one of the sport’s most prestigious competitions. NHSSA provides a valuable platform for young skateboarders looking to get their talents seen by big names.
The mission of the National High School Skateboard Association, or NHSSA, is to provide an environment for high school skateboarders to showcase their skating talents while still in school. The NHSSA believes that young skateboarders, like all other young athletes, need an outlet to compete and reach their full potential. The NHSSA supports skateboarders who want to take their abilities to the next level professionally, those who want to have a career in the skateboard industry, and those who simply enjoy skateboarding as a hobby.
I’ve gone through a lot of skate shoes and can still remember when most were basically the same, so hanging with my skaters would mean that we were wearing identical shoes. I decided to give the “Design Your Own” feature a try and made my first custom Etnies. They were mostly black and had my nickname “Chavo” embroidered in white on the sides and let me tell you, they were much better than those “make your own custom skate shoes by spray painting some old crappy canvas shoes that you find laying in the back of the garage” types. If you know Etnies, you know that these are high quality skate shoes that can take a beating and with literally thousands of possible combinations, you can feel safe that your custom Etnies are unique.
Keep practicing those small pushes until they get larger and larger. Eventually, you’ll be a skating professional! Until then, however, you will need to get ready for many disappointments, failures, and embarrassments. You will probably wipe out quite a bit as a novice skateboarder, but don’t let that stop you. Just get back on the board, and try again

Skateboarding the most popular pastimes in America
by ama-author
Skateboarding has become one of the most popular pastimes in America. When I was growing up the skateboarding craze was slowly overtaking BMX for the top spot in the world of extreme sports. Because skateboarding can be done anywhere and for significant less money it has become the standard alternative sport of choice. But just like any other sport, skateboarding is a skill and requires instruction, desire, and practice. You can get all the expensive equipment and skateboarding trick tips you want, but if you don’t have the three necessities, you will never be the next Tony Hawk or Kevin Staab. Be sure you even step on that board make sure you have all three of these key elements:
Get your friends to teach you. Skating is a big show off sport (you know I’m right). It’s all about who can do the most awesome tricks and who can land them consistently. So I bet you know some friends who know tricks that you don’t know.
Also, some skateboarding trick tips have been compiled and published in book form. These prove helpful because you can carry them around and whip them out at a moments notice. If you are die-hard and have some extra time and cash, most major cities offers skateboarding clinics and classes. These are great ways to get one-on-one professional instruction and learn things properly the first time!
Check out all the skating videos on the web. YouTube has A LOT of skateboard trick videos. I’ve watched a bunch of them and the skill level of some of the skaters is amazing. They are a great way to get ideas, and you can learn tricks this way. But it is not the easiest way to learn skateboarding tricks and you may find yourself getting frustrated.
Practice: I hate practice. I want things to happen instantly. Unfortunately the world doesn’t work that way. Skateboarding requires an insane amount of practice. You may spend days trying to master a single trick. Some skateboarders will spend weeks on a single move before they even come close to landing it. Don’t give up. Practice makes perfect and nowhere does that saying ring truer than in the world of skateboarding.
Get skateboarding trick tips from experts and then practice incessantly. Practice until you reach the point of utter frustration and exhaustion. Then, practice some ore. Skateboarding is hard core. It requires expert instructions, undying passion, and mind-numbing amounts of practice. However, if you have the drive and determination to keep at it, then one day future skateboarding stars will be buying your skateboarding trick tips on DVD and video

Is Giving Skateboarding Lessons A Good Idea?
by ksandor

Ask a group of experienced skateboarders if they think that skateboarding lessons are worthwhile and you will get two widely divergent views. One group will tell you that skateboarding is a natural ability and except of the few basic safety steps, people should be left to learn it on their own in a way that suits their pace and their idea of fun. But some other will tell you that skateboarding today has become a very technical sport requiring high degrees of skills and the best way to learn is by taking skateboarding lessons. There is truth in what both sides have to say, but if you have skills that can benefit others and are prepared to work at passing them on, you can make money by giving skateboarding lessons.
Of course just having skills is not enough to make you a good teacher – you will need a great deal of patience, especially in dealing with slow learners, understanding, and the ability to give encouragement to those who are lacking in self confidence about their skateboarding abilities. If you think you can do it you must now focus on the type of students you want – they could be young children or teenagers who want to improve their skateboarding abilities or maybe even old folks who want to try a new activity. Each group, or any other market you focus one, will need to be given skateboarding lessons in a different way and for this you will need to plan your teaching in details. Making a list of things to teach them is not enough – you will need to understand what they need to be taught and why, in what order you will teach them the skills you have and what duration you teaching program will last. A most important factor is knowing how much it charge – demand too much and no one will come and charge too little and you may not make any money.
Be careful not to bite off too much at first – start off with small groups of students so you get a hang of how long it takes people to learn things. And your students will require individual attention and starting with just a few will allow you to get at the problems you will face and how you will have to tackle them. Also as some students are slower learners than other, small groups will allow you to get a feel of the time frames you will need. With this information, you will be able to plan your ,skateboard lessonsns in a way that enables you to teach your students what they need to know and also to bring you the maximum money.
