Sturdy Skateboard Review

When you are looking for a skateboard there are different things that each individual looks for specifically when looking at a new board. For some people aesthetics are important, while others simply want performance; whatever you are looking for a skateboard review will usually help to point you in the right direction. Knowledge of some basic skateboarding guidelines will help you to narrow down your choices even more. However quality is probably the most important factor when you are looking at any skateboard, it is important to have a durable skateboard when you have a new board.
If performance is important to you then you might want to look away from some of the flashier designs and look for a board that is made up of quality parts. Wooden decks often get good skateboard reviews because of the ‘give’ or responsiveness when you are performing tricks. You also want to make sure that the trucks and wheels are made from good materials to avoid unnecessary accidents. Good materials mean that you can make a skateboard outlast the typical lifespan of 6 months if you are going to use your skateboard everyday.
Another important element in selecting a skateboard is the type of wheel on your skateboard; you need a wheel that is suited to the type of riding you are doing. Skateboard reviews usually like to look at whether a deck will hold its shape or have good spring and pop when doing tricks. Most skateboard reviews will point out that a skateboard that has a heavier deck will be great on the vertical, this may or may not be a plus for you. If you are an all around skater then you might want to look for a different skateboard review that is more versatile.
It may be tempting to pay a lot for a fancy skateboard that the pros are using but when you are just starting out there is no need to do this. While not essential no one can deny how sweet it is to ride on a skateboard with a design that pops. Look around the different types of skateboards that are available in your local skate shop and see if they match up to the skateboard reviews you have read. Best of all the low price of a beginner skateboard means that you don’t have to worry about your skateboard being worn out too fast.

Is Giving Skateboarding Lessons A Good Idea?

Ask a group of experienced skateboarders if they think that skateboarding lessons are worthwhile and you will get two widely divergent views. One group will tell you that skateboarding is a natural ability and except of the few basic safety steps, people should be left to learn it on their own in a way that suits their pace and their idea of fun. But some other will tell you that skateboarding today has become a very technical sport requiring high degrees of skills and the best way to learn is by taking skateboarding lessons. There is truth in what both sides have to say, but if you have skills that can benefit others and are prepared to work at passing them on, you can make money by giving skateboarding lessons.
Of course just having skills is not enough to make you a good teacher – you will need a great deal of patience, especially in dealing with slow learners, understanding, and the ability to give encouragement to those who are lacking in self confidence about their skateboarding abilities. If you think you can do it you must now focus on the type of students you want – they could be young children or teenagers who want to improve their skateboarding abilities or maybe even old folks who want to try a new activity. Each group, or any other market you focus one, will need to be given skateboarding lessons in a different way and for this you will need to plan your teaching in details. Making a list of things to teach them is not enough – you will need to understand what they need to be taught and why, in what order you will teach them the skills you have and what duration you teaching program will last. A most important factor is knowing how much it charge – demand too much and no one will come and charge too little and you may not make any money.
Be careful not to bite off too much at first – start off with small groups of students so you get a hang of how long it takes people to learn things. And your students will require individual attention and starting with just a few will allow you to get at the problems you will face and how you will have to tackle them. Also as some students are slower learners than other, small groups will allow you to get a feel of the time frames you will need. With this information, you will be able to plan your ,skateboard lessonsns in a way that enables you to teach your students what they need to know and also to bring you the maximum money.
